Spirit Sol 67 Daily Image Caption Release Date: March 12, 2004 Image File Name: x_pubeng_Bonneville.tif x_pubeng_Bonneville_anaglyph.tif Source File Name: /collections/site-18/NAVCAMWedgeSet-position-0.wdml (3 wedges) Summary Information: Navigation Camera Mosaic taken by Spirit on Sol 67 of the Bonneville Crater site. Submitter: John Grant Institution: Theme/Team/Group: Sol of Observation: 067 Earth Date of Observation: 03-11-04 Title of Image Another Look at Bonneville Caption: The Mars Exploration Rover Spirit took this navigation camera mosaic of Bonneville crater after driving approximately 13 meters (42.7 feet) to get a better vantage point. Spirit's current position is just right - she is close enough to the edge to see the interior of the crater, but high enough and far enough back to get a view of all of the walls. Because scientists and rover controllers are so pleased with this location, they will stay here for at least two sols to take high resolution panoramic camera images of Bonneville in its entirety. Just above the far crater rim, on the lefthand side, is the heatshield, which is visible as a tiny reflective speck.
